Charley Frank Pride was an American singer and former professional baseball player. He was extremely popular during the 1970s and also followed Elvis Presley to be the best-selling performer. During his era, he was able to land 52 of his songs on Billboard Hot County’s top-10 list. In addition to this, 30 of those songs managed to grab the number one spot. He is a Country Music Hall of Famer with four Grammys and three American Music Awards to his name.

Talking about Pride’s family and wife, he married his one and only wife, Rozene Cohran, in 1956. She is currently 85 years old, and she used to work as a beautician. They began dating after their first meeting in Memphis, Tennessee. The couple together has a total of three children from their marriage. They welcomed their first child, Kraig Pride, on an unknown date, their second child, Dion Pride, in 1962. Likewise, they welcomed their third child Angela Pride following a couple of years.

The detailed information about Charley and Rozene’s children is scarce. However, we do know that Dion Pride has established himself in the acting business. He landed a prominent role of Specks in the 1979 mystery movie, ‘The Double McGuffin.’ Kraig chooses to stay away from the limelight, unlike his brother and father. Besides this, Angela runs her own coaching business called ‘Coach with Pride.’

Charley involved himself in an extramarital affair during the 1970s with a flight attendant. He never mentioned the identity details of the flight attendant. Not only did he date her, but he also had a son with her, and his name is Tyler. The woman demanded child support against Pride, to which he eventually agreed. He provided child support till Tyler was 18 years old. Moreover, a DNA test also proved that he was really Charley’s son. This proof allowed the child to adopt his surname as Pride.

Sadly, Charley Pride passed away on 12 December 2020. He was suffering from the Coronavirus, and his health deteriorated. He passed away at the age of 86 years old in Dallas, Texas.
